Start a genome browser by chromosome position

Fill in the form and click on the submit button to pull up a browser for the genomic region of interest. This function is not available in the browsers for some completed genomes. Some databases are available through more than one genome viewer.

Note, slight shifts in position are possible when database versions differ between the browser and the search engine (or wherever you obtained the chromosomal coordinates). The chromosomal position in base pairs is not a good long term link to a region of interest but it may be all the information you can get from a BLAST search of a genome.

Other organisms not in this table might be found on the genome browser servers at the NCBI , Ensembl, and the CMR at TIGR.

The list of bacteria from the NCBI was derived by extracting the first column from ftp://ftp.ncbi.nih.gov/genomes/Bacteria/accessions and submitting it as a batch entrez request, viewing it as a gi list, then editing.
