General
This contains a few hints on how to use these machines
nedit is a GUI editor which is much easier to use
than the standard unix editors such as vi or ed.
Pico is a terminal based editor, it is very simple to use and works well
for modifying or composing small files
For mail you may use the SAF web based mail interface (Neomail) or configure Mozilla
or Netscape to use secure IMAP to mendel.bio.caltech.edu. Normal (unencrypted) IMAP is blocked.
